This year’s programme includes sessions on spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) screening (including experience from France from Nadège Calmels), as well as proposals for a rolling programme of in‑service evaluations to generate UK‑specific evidence to support future screening programme expansions. There will also be presentations highlighting developments from UK laboratories including second‑tier testing strategies from Stuart Moat, insights into how pre‑analytical factors influence dried blood spot tests (from me!), and approaches to improving the collection of clinical outcome data for screen‑positive babies.
