Francyne Kubaski

Recipient of the Jean Dussault Medal 2019

Dr Francyne Kubaski studied Biomedical Sciences and received her Masters in Medicine from the Universidade Federal de Rio Grande do Sul, Brzail in 2012. Subsequently she completed her PhD thesis at the Molecular Biology and Genetics University of Delaware on the Diagnosis and Therapies for Mucopolysaccharidosis.

Dr Kubaski was employed at the Hospital de Clinicas de Porto Alegre (Brazil). Recently she joined the Greenwood Genetic Center, Greenwood, USA.

During her career the focus was on the development of identification methods for lysosomal disorders, in particular Mucopolysaccharidosis. She followed sevarl courses in Brazil and elsewhere but also was involved in teaching others. She received several professional awards and scholarships.

Dr Kubaski (co-)authored more than 50 publications and book chapters. She has given many presentations in national and international conferences.
